Events are a great way to go deeper into the world of drama therapy!  Open to all members of the community; DTILA students may use some events for TBA hours.

Theatre on the Threshold is looking for committed people to be part of an important project.  NO ACTING EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!*  We welcome all who have the desire to be part of this unique theatre company while serving their community. 

*Positions available behind the scenes, too!  Marketing, stage management, costume and prop procurement are just a few of the spots needing your help. Please send email to trisha@onbrightwings.com with times you are available.

Two opportunities to join Zoom therapy groups which feature drama therapy, storytelling, mindfulness and embodiment are happening soon.

DRAMA THERAPY PSYCHOTHERAPY GROUPS:

Starts August 28th

2:30 pm-4:30 pm (PST)

$244 for 6 weeks

Facilitated by: Alexis Maron, RDT-BCT, RADT

Participating in the drama therapy psychotherapy group will open your creativity, expression, possibilities in your life and abilities to handle crisis. The group will explore the effective and/or limiting roles we play in our lives, and how to best utilize our potential to be the best version of ourselves, effectively managing our mental health and leading a well-balanced life.

MINDFULNESS, STORYTELLING, NARRADRAMA GROUP

Starts September 21

Start Time: 4 to 6pm (PST) depending on participant schedules

$244 for 6 weeks

Facilitated by: Renda Dionne Madrigal, PhD. NF

Mindfulness, Storytelling, and Narradrama. A psychotherapy group weaving these creative modalities together to support participants in fostering resiliency so they can live their best life.

For either class, there is an option to arrange payments.

For participants on the RDT track, you can count up to 100 hours of personal psychotherapy (for the additional 500 hours) so either of these groups would count toward those hours.

Meet the Facilitators 

Alexis Maron, RDT-BCT, RADT is a drama therapist specializing in relationships, family dynamics, and sexual and chemical addictions. She leads drama therapy groups at renowned treatment centers such as the Waismann Institute, Simply Recovery, Lido Wellness and Nexus-Recover with clients who suffer from substance abuse and sexual addictions. In 2014, she opened her private practice, and has been working with couples and individuals to help them with identity work, communication skills, and finding their passion. 

Renda Dionne Madrigal, PhD, NF is a licensed Clinical Psychologist for over 25 years, UCLA Certified Mindfulness Facilitator for both adults and children and a Narradrama Facilitator (NF). She is a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narradrama, Mindfulness and Somatic Experiences. She has served as a Cultural Consultant on American Indian Mental Health. She is also a TA/Advisor for the UCLA Mindfulness Awareness Research Center, partner of the Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology, for the teacher training program. She has presented at numerous conferences and training’s at the tribal, county, state, and federal level, and served as Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Oregon where she taught Research Methods. Recently, she has been involved in a Therapeutic Theatre Project, Menil and Her Heart– about missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and in using Narradrama as a Three Act Play for uncovering wisdom in traditional stories and their applicability to difficulties we face in our lives today. Her book Mindful Family Circle is in press and will be out in the Spring of 2021.
