Policy of Recording and Missing Classes

Recordings are typically made of classes in which pre-arranged absences have been approved relating to a work conflict that cannot be resolved or religious restriction, or because of an unexpected life event (i.e. early birth, death). Other reasons may involve illness, emergency or network failure (when class on Zoom). In all cases instructor needs to be notified.  Recording a class needs to be approved by the class members.  Recordings are deleted immediately after viewing.  Sometimes class members may request that a particular class be recorded due to a project or performance that they are giving as they want to review it.  This would also require approval by the other class members, or in some cases, just the performance or project of the student would be recorded, viewed and immediately deleted.

Typical policies when a student misses a class are: (1) Student completes an extra assignment related to the viewing of the video; (2) Students attends the class the next time it is offered to experience the live component  that was missed(without charge). Sometimes other options are available such as attending a live event or a group with related class content.
