Harnessing the Power of Legend, Story, Music,
& Narrative Ideas in Transforming Lives
Drama Therapy Workshop in Kinsale, Ireland
With Dr. Pam Dunne, Phd, RDT-BCT
July 7 to July 13, 2012

Through drama therapy and narrative practices, participants will be invited on a journey to explore pathways through myths and personal story. They will look at their preferred ideas about identity, beliefs, and choices, which lead to change and transformation. In honoring Irish culture and tradition, participants will have the opportunity to integrate some Celtic ideas of healing and balance with narrative ideas that they may find useful in their lives.
Kinsale, Ireland
Kinsale is known for its historic sites, festivals, and stunning coastline. Leisure activities include yachting, sea angling, swimming, sailing, and horseback riding. The compact town also has several art galleries and is enveloped with a quaint air of antiquity in the narrow intersecting streets. Kinsale is noted for its gourmet eating establishments and holds a "Gourmet Festival" annually.
Kinsale Arts Week
Kinsale Arts Week is a multi-disciplinary Arts Festival. It commissions new work in all genres and supports both established and emerging artists. It is happening July 7-14th.
The program features local, national, and international work, and includes visual art, theatre, music, literature, film, dance, architecture, and family entertainment. There is a keen emphasis on community involvement in the festival. The festival seeks to use all possible performance spaces in the historic town including the harbor, the streets, boats, churches, and other unusual spaces. The audience at home and from abroad are invited to expect the extraordinary and celebrate creativity. Participants in the workshop may be interested in going to some of the events.
